We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Cloud Engineer - Delivery Assurance & Digitalization.
To take our operations to the next level, the BMW Groups – Delivery Assurance department is looking for a Cloud Engineering intern to help start its Supply Chain Innovations Think Tank (SCITT) and continue BMW’s leadership in supply chain management. The goal of SCITT will be to research emerging technologies including Data Science and Architecture, and creativity creation and build BMW’s supply chain leadership in these areas.
What awaits you?
You develop and operate data processing pipelines using appropriate AWS services.
As part of SCITT you will be involved in building collaborations within all resorts of the BMW Group including engineering, purchasing and production and honing BMW’s know-how of cloud infrastructures.
You will help to expand our network and build relationships with our external implementation partners in software and IT consulting, as well as prestigious universities to make further advances in supply chain analytics.
You implement data delivery solutions to power our internal services (e.g. UI, BI, analytics) with a focus on scalability, speed, and reliability.
We will create a constant knowledge feed to BMW Management on trends and possibilities for growth in the data science space.
Our Innovations Think Tank is looking for data experts with serious analytical skills and knowledge of cloud environments.
You will help to embrace data analytics tools and methods confidently and responsibly to solve business challenges.
You leverage data to discover patterns and solve strategic analytic business problems.
What should you bring along?
Currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university studying Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Informatics, Data Science. Master’s Degree preferred.
You have experience in building automated ETL pipelines, data storage/databases.
You have in-depth knowledge of the AWS stack of data services (S3, RDS, Athena, Redshift, Glue, etc.)
You have in-depth knowledge of automation tools leveraging CI/CD processes, code coverage, and infrastructure as code development best practices.
You have programming skills in Java, Python, and Kotlin would also be a plus. Knowledge in Data Engineering (Spark/SQL): understanding of different data visualizations tools for Data Visualization (i.e. AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, IMPACT plotly/dash, Angular.js/React.js).
Experience in Software Engineering und Agile software development preferred (i.e. Git, Scrum, Jira, CI/CD etc.).
Ability to develop from complex data analysis web-based solutions for business use in understanding data preferred.
