Job Overview The Global Lead Buyer's Medical & Scientific main responsibilities are: Defining a global strategy and market intelligence for several Sub-Categories Adapting and proposing these strategies to all countries in scope Implementation of the Strategy within the defined geographical scope Track progress and performance after implementation E2E procurement management for several Sub-Categories Interacting with Sanofi Medical & Scientific Procurement Team within Shared Supplier Governance Model Ensure that global performance meets expectations on fundamentals HSE/Sustainability, Quality while carrying out strategic initiatives / projects. Responsibilities Strategy Propose & Implement competitive and innovative strategies for several product families based on market intelligence, assessing risks and opportunities, aligned on budget, product lifecycle to deliver value to the businesses Establish a multi annual roadmap to be executed to deliver saving for the plants and to create value / competitive advantages for the brands Ensure procurement technical excellence: TCO, sustainability, Innovation, supply continuity, quality / compliance, … Identify and engage at appropriate level the lead specifiers from the businesses and Industrial Affairs Operational Organize tender, negotiate prices for the concerned perimeter, established prices list and agreements Step-in and support any major projects and/or supplier issues for the sites Drive the development of new market opportunities (new launchings, new technologies, sustainable components, ..) Set-up and drive S.R.M. with key suppliers for the product families in cooperation with Sanofi Medical & Scientific Team (when shared suppliers ) Management knowledge and product expertise Set-up and drive right supplier base with clear roadmap to reduce number of suppliers Optimize Working Capital / Free Cash-Flow by continuous improvement of Payment Terms according to Country / Group Standards Single Point of Contact for CHC Science Hub Business Partnering Business partner role to ensure the appropriate level of interface and execution with functions Ensure the appropriate level of communication within procurement community to act as One Procurement community Facilitate and build collaborative Business Partnering across the Business Unit to support initiatives / projects / strategies Build and maintain strong interfaces and collaborations with other departments like finance, legal, Science Hub Dimensions/Scope Procurement Category Digital directly managed: Medical (studies) Scientific (Lab supplies, Lab Equipment, Lab Maintenance) Spend: ~40 M€ (~ 20 Mio. Euro in Medical and ~ 20 Mio. Euro in Scientific) Global Responsibility across all 41 countries with CHC presence SPOC for CHC Science Hub Requirements University degree in Pharmaceutical engineering/process, Chemistry Engineer or equivalent At least 5 years’ experience in Procurement or Project Management in relationship with Suppliers and Industrial Affairs Leadership skills and experience with proven track record in building and leading cross functional teams Ability to understand the products, the supplier and product processes Effective communication skills (oral & written) Leadership and change management skills Business acumen and strategic thinking Understanding in Cost management, budgeting and controlling Strongly continuous improvement oriented Strong team spirit, open minded, curiosity and creativity Pragmatic and result oriented Easy to work in complex environment, ability to synthesis and to move straight to the point Autonomy, take action and don’t wait to be told what to do Fluent in English International and multi-cultural relationship Sanofi Inc. and its U.S. affiliates are Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employers committed to a culturally diverse workforce.
