The main responsibility of the department is to guarantee the availability of tire and vehicle performance prediction technologies, processes, and tools for OE product development. Acknowledging the strategic importance of virtual development both for our automotive industry OE clients and our internal efficient and successful tire development, you will contribute to maintaining our market leading position in this field.Your main tasks include:Lead and coordinate technology innovation activities & projects in the field of tire and vehicle interaction Develop of robust and efficient processes to generate tire models for Vehicle Dynamics and NVH prediction either according to well-established industry standards (MFTire, FTire, CDTire), or internal and proprietary modeling approaches Interact with internal and external customers and contribute actively to the product design strategy by offering performance simulation and results analysis for a broad range of tire & vehicle attributes Propose/realize concrete steps for further quality and efficiency improvement of all stages of tire & vehicle performance prediction Qualifications Academic degree in the field of engineering or physical/natural sciences or similar Deep knowledge and understanding of tire/vehicle interaction mechanisms for vehicle dynamics, especially steering/handling & NVH Experience with CAE/FEM method development & application, ideally in the field of tires or vehicle NVH/structural dynamics Experience with industry standard tire modeling approaches such as MFTire, FTire, CDTire (modeling and simplification principles, testing, parameter identification process, limitations, application scenarios, vehicle model integration, etc.) desired Experience with vehicle level vehicle dynamics simulation (steering, handling, ride, noise & vibration) desired Experience with driving simulator systems (tire and vehicle model preparation & integration, interpretation of results, coupling with conventional product development process, operations) desired Experience with problem-solving, ideally in product development by application of non-standard CAE methods & concepts Project management experience; proven performance under pressure and tight schedules Fluent English language skills (written and spoken) Efficient operating within large and diverse teams; customer interface experience Applications from severely handicapped people are welcome.
