    Senior Controls Engineer - Naval Gas Turbine Modules

    Indianapolis, IN

    We are seeking two experienced Electronics & Control Systems engineers. Responsibilities will include a combination or subset of: analyzing requirements, developing design documents, supporting electrical schematics development, selection of electronic/electrical components to facilitate required functionality to satisfy requirements, and control implementation with languages such as C++, C-Sharp, MATLAB/Simulink. Additionally, you will spend your days actively engaging with product design team, software, hardware, and test evaluating control and monitoring systems based on off-the-shelf embedded control processor hardware and/or other hardware components.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Support the development and implementation of hardware design strategy via schematic capture, possible PCB layout design, circuit design, and embedded design including sensors, logic processors and end-actuators.

    • Hands-on experience with creating prototypes, system development, and product integration

    • Support several projects concurrently; multitasking, team member, and prioritization.

    • Analyze hardware requirements to determine feasibility of the design and articulate findings to allow decisions in support of time and cost constraints

    • Develop software/code to implement control solutions using languages such as C++, C-Sharp, MATLAB/Simulink.

    • Validation and testing of hardware designs by the use of written verification procedures, analyses executing test code, drivers and physical measurements.

    • Supports Configuration Management and Change Control programs for components, subsystems and systems, including design documentation and data deliverables.

    • Supports equipment installation, commissioning, system qualification and testing in the factory, at subcontractors, and shipboard.

    • Supports the development, update and maintenance of installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting procedures.

    • Supports proposals for new contracts and engineering changes.

    • Up to 25% travel both domestically and internationally on a scheduled and unscheduled basis

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Software, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Mechanical) with 2+ years of engineering experience, or

    • Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Marine, or Electrical Engineering with 0+ years of engineering experience, or

    • JD/PhD

    • In order to be considered for this role, must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Experience with microprocessor based designs with ARM Cortex A9, Intel based or similar is a plus

    • Analog circuit design with SPICE simulation such as LTspice is a plus

    • Experience in the design, development, test, qualification and/or certification of large industrial or marine control and monitoring systems including software development for PLCs or HMI.

    • Knowledge in programming languages such as C++, C-Sharp, MATLAB/Simulink, or any other graphic based programming language is desirable

    • Gas turbine engine controls experience or marine propulsion control system experience a plus

    • Naval or commercial shipboard or shipyard experience a plus

    • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and/or control system design and analysis tools.

    • Comfortable working occasionally in a shipyard or shipboard environment.
