    We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Works Coordinator within the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business.

    This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Regeneration of the Raynesway Nuclear Licenced Site. This once in a lifetime major infrastructure programme is replacing the current facilities with modern state of the art manufacturing capability.

    Our Submarines Business is responsible for the design, manufacture, supply and through-life support of nuclear propulsion-related products and systems in support of the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. We support the Royal Navy as the Technical Authority for all UK Naval Reactor Submarine Plants, and we're continuing to build our nuclear sector capability to support the development of a new nuclear plant for future submarines.

    Our nuclear business holds two nuclear site Licences for Nuclear Manufacturing and Nuclear Power Plant operations providing Nuclear Safety Cases justify the continued operation of extant and new manufacturing facilities. It is also the leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the technical authority for this plant, managing all aspects of plant design, safety, manufacture, performance and through-life support.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Overseeing the coordination and supervision of all construction related Temporary Works on the Raynesway Site including management and recording of all Temporary Works into consolidated Registers.
    • Reviewing and oversight of peer or third-party Temporary Works designs and acting as an Subject Matter Expert within the Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering functions as required.
    • Participation in review of Design Complexity Risk and Categorisation Risk for the identified work scope.
    • Completing analysis and assessments, including calculations to assisted in the development of Temporary Works Solutions including oversight and management of the necessary standards, drawings and specifications.
    • Developing, management and control all Temporary Works procedures and process for the control of Temporary Works within the Raynesway Site including any audit or supervision of partners, contractors and suppliers.
    • Overseeing the development of design briefs to enable adequate and appropriate measures to be taken by defined categorisation.
    • Integrating cross-functional learning of Temporary Works processes within Project and Engineering teams enabling best practice.

    Key Skills and Qualifications:

    • Degree in Structural and/or Civil Engineering or equivalent with membership to an appropriate professional body or charted status.
    • A demonstrable ability to work in multidisciplinary teams to tight deadlines.
    • The ability to provide clear, concise and accurate technical reports.
    • Demonstrate experience or knowledge of categorizing temporary works and construction hazard identification techniques.
    • Have had previous experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator, Supervisor or Designer demonstrating an understanding of So Far As Reasonably Practicable (SFARP) assessments.
    • Have excellent communication skills (including presentation skills) in both written and verbal forms reporting at both Project and Board Level.

    To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a minimum of an Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.

    Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
