WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Digital Farming provides actionable and field-specific advice to farmers, advisors and business partners worldwide for our xarvio products. For this, we build digital solutions for crop management for the xarvio FieldManager, xarvio HealthyFields, ONE SmartSpray and Horta.

• In your new role, you develop, improve and maintain crop models for different crops across diverse climatic regions.
• You take end-to-end responsibility for building highly performant models, drawing on your solid agronomic background and understanding of key crop modelling concepts.
• With strong python skills and data science experience, you drive model development – including data preparation, scripting and postprocessing.
• In regular exchange with local teams, you assess in-season model performance, define necessary improvements and communicate results transparently to stakeholders.
• You ensure consistent data management, covering quality control, gap filling, conversion and weighting of input parameters.
• Additionally, you calibrate and validate your models using various methods and deliver agronomically sound analyses based on model output. 

WHAT YOU OFFER

• degree in agricultural sciences or a comparable qualification
• initial experience in plant cultivation and agronomic analysis methods
• practical experience in data and function modelling, software development and programming
• sound knowledge of relevant technologies and confident use of standard applications
• very good language skills in English and German
• structured, solution-oriented working style with strong analytical skills
