As one of our Gen>NEXT students, you will be part of the team from day one and encouraged to add new ideas and value to the business. This is a Co-Op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: fall, 2nd rotation: summer, 3rd rotation: spring). Material Flow and Lineside Planning Team member responsible for supporting logistics planning initiatives across the plant. Team member will support series changes and new vehicle launches across both assembly halls, body shop and/or with integrating new logistics innovation projects. There are multiple positions with logistics planning that will focus on different areas of the plant. The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions: a. Supporting implementation of autonomous logistics vehicles in the plant b. Running of weekly/monthly reporting documents c. Lineside Transition Organization and Support for series packages d. Logistics parts list checks and maintenance e. Head count planning for logistics processes for new vehicle launches f. Planning of floor space for part storage (high bay racking, block storage, supermarkets) g. Planning material flow deliveries for future derivatives h. Maintaining BMW layouts using layout software a. Future Model Evaluation Run b. Dashboard Enhancements for KPI Reporting c. Autonomous Rollout Plan a. Planning implementation of Smart Transport Robots (STRs), Autonomous tugger trains, autonomous forklifts, and autonomous yard hostlers b. Planning and evaluating use cases c. Planning of routes, points of interest, and call off process d. Creation of KPI tracking for performance e. Supporting of fault resolution Qualifikation: Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field Microsoft Office Proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Detail-oriented Programming knowledge preferred. Self-Starter Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major). Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States. Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application. Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions. Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week). Transfer students must have a GPA from current university. Must Attach an unofficial transcript upon applying. Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
