This role is based in our head office in Santry Dublin.   Underwriting - New Business Manager   The role holder will ensure that the Underwriting and Payout functions provide consistently exemplary levels of service to retailers/partners, to protect and enhance the brand reputation of BMW & ALPHERA Financial Services. The main function of this role is leading a team of underwriters, providing management information, and handling exceptional cases. The role also supports the currently outsourced contract implementation process managing and engaging with the outsource provider daily. Leadership of Underwriting Function. Direct and assist the team to ensure service is delivered against key performance indicators. To ensure professional development, motivation, and engagement of direct reports to enable them to fulfill their full potential. Ensure that excellent levels of service are provided by the Underwriting Team when providing responses to our Retailers/Partners. The levels of service must meet the high expectations of BMW Group Financial Services and our Retailers & Partners. Monitoring workload of the team and Dealer Front End work queues ensuring appropriate resource and focus is directed to guarantee that agreed turnaround times are met. Maintaining underwriting processes and procedures ensuring compliance with company guidelines whilst maximising productivity/service levels. Monitor Internal Control System and Operational Risk Register as required and updated accordingly. Provide a vision and framework to enable continuous improvement within the team. Champion and drive improvements in productivity and efficiency. Quality Control of the team’s work. On a weekly basis review sample cases from each team member to ensure the high standard of excellence is adhered to. This will help identify training requirements and manage performance. Skills & Experience Proven underwriting experience among Motor Finance Products and a good understanding of Credit Management. Strong understanding of best practices for reviewing and continuously improving operational processes. Good understanding of customer/dealer best practices. In depth knowledge of the retail/corporate finance and/or vehicle finance industry. Demonstrable experience working within an operational environment. Significant management and leadership experience and a proven track record of developing, mentoring, motivating and leading teams. Ability to use a variety of systems at the same time quickly and accurately. Highly developed interpersonal, team management and motivation skills. Ability to deal with people at all levels, internal and external. Good understanding of fraud prevention and risk versus reward.
