The Software Factory is the central department responsible to harmonize and professionalize processes, methods, and tools (PMT) across the global Software development for automotive control units. The focus is on different areas like Software-architecture, -integration and -releasing, -validation and -quality. Hence working with us means to set the base for state-of-the-art software development within BMW, that meets current and future demands.   What awaits you? As the Practice Lead for Software Architecture, you are responsible to define, realize, deploy, and optimize processes, methods, and tools (PMT) for software architecture workflows like software requirements engineering, software architecture design and software interface management within the control units and towards other control units. Therefore, you work together with the overarching system and software architects as well as with the development projects and align the needs of the projects to a common baseline of processes, methods and tools and you supervise their operation. Additionally, you foster the software architecture community for knowledge transfer and trainings. Budget and resource planning lies within your responsibilities.   What should you bring along? University degree in Computer Sciences or related subjects. At least 8 years of professional experience in software development projects with more than 200 software developers and multiple suppliers. Strong expertise in software architecture for complex automotive control units in one or ideally more of the following areas: autonomous driving, connectivity and infotainment, body control. Knowledge of AUTOSAR and POSIX operating systems, e.g. Linux, Android, QNX. Knowledge of automotive communication technologies and interface management, e.g. CAN, Ethernet, SomeIP, and inter-process communication, e.g. AUTOSAR RTE, sockets, binder and protocols on top. Experience with requirements management and modelling tools and a profound knowledge of Software processes based on ASPICE and safety standards, e.g. ISO 26262. Excellent communication skills with all kinds of stakeholders from developers to senior managers and the motivation to proactively drive and iterate towards a common solution.
