We are looking for a Scientist Data Science with a keen interest in the fields of drug discovery and development. You will join the department of Computational Engineering, which belongs to a unit called Large Molecule Research within Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). This position therefore offers the opportunity to interact with numerous functions within Roche also at different sites to deliver novel medicines to patients. Your team in a nutshell: You will be cooperating with a team of employees within a functional matrix of highly skilled and experienced in-silico and lab co-workers and peers. The job in a nutshell: As an expert for Data Science in Large Molecule Research, you will be contributing to discover and advance differentiated biotherapeutics in a fast-paced environment and rapidly changing RnD organization. The main challenges of this position: Data integration and data mining capabilities are continuously advancing. You will be analyzing and consolidating data as well as including machine learning approaches to augment and advance the discovery process for innovative medicines. New applications and their value for internal research workflows are evaluated, implemented and operated according to pRED standards and in alignment with global functions and partners such as pRED Informatics. Existing applications are maintained and continuously developed and integrated into workflows. And the technical requirements for this position? Abitur or equivalent graduation diploma University degree in bioinformatics, biochemistry, (bio)physics, chemistry, biology or related subjects Expertise in machine learning and data analysis. Solid programming skills in either Python, Perl or R. Working knowledge in C(++) or other programming languages. Knowledge in the field of protein design and engineering. Experience using common deep learning frameworks (tensorflow, torch, keras) is a definite plus. You have a solid background in databases, SQL, and are confident in aggregating, manipulating and pivoting data tables. We look forward receiving your application!
