Position Overview
Details of the role and how it fits into the team In both the domestic German market and worldwide, the Private Bank (“PB”) provides high-quality advice to over 20 million clients and a broad range of financial services in 19 countries – ranging from day-to-day banking services right through to advisory services for sophisticated Private Banking and Wealth Management clients. In Italy, Spain, Belgium and India the Private Bank offers its services to corporate clients as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. The Private Bank is a strong pillar of the Group: a modern bank that boasts capital markets and financing expertise, a strong global network and modern digital services. Financial Resource Management (“FRM”) is responsible for steering the balance sheet and capital resources provided to the Private Bank ensuring sustainable growth of the franchise and meeting clients’ needs in a competitive environment. FRM is a sub-division of the Banking, Lending and Investment Solutions division, which is responsible for the management of all Private Bank products (deposits, credit cards, loans, capital markets, advisory and discretionary management). FRM mission includes: - Ensuring each type of PB liabilities and assets are modelled according to their contribution to the bank funding framework and remunerated accordingly; - Optimising capital allocation by executing true sale, synthetic risk transactions and ad-hoc off balance sheet structures - Working with Treasury and Risk functions to optimise interest rate management - Interacting with key stakeholders in Treasury, Finance, Risk, the Corporate Bank and the Investment Bank to work through constraints and limitations; - Providing transparency and giving guidance to business leaders to optimise the Private Bank strategy against these finite resources. Your key responsibilities Serve as the subject matter expert for all capital transactions involving Private Bank products (including mortgages, consumer finance, and Lombard loans), with a focus on optimizing capital consumption and maximizing shareholder value for the Deutsche Bank group and the Private Bank division Conduct in-depth analysis of the Private Bank asset portfolios, credit risk, and market conditions to inform structuring decisions and optimize deal pricing and origination strategy Lead the structuring, execution, and ongoing management of securitisation transactions, including cash and synthetic risk transfer deals, off-balance sheet vehicles, and loan repackaging opportunities Develop, implement, and monitor the securitisation plan, ensuring timely execution of committed transactions and comprehensive lifecycle management, including regulatory and investor reporting Collaborate with credit modelling experts, structuring, Strategic Corporate Lending and treasury teams to identify market opportunities, ensuring alignment with group-wide capital and funding strategies Ensure all securitisation transactions comply with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., CRR, Securitisation Regulation, Basel III, IFRS 9), including origination due diligence, risk retention, transparency, and disclosure requirements Monitor portfolio performance, manage ongoing reporting obligations, and proactively address any issues arising during the transaction lifecycle with the relevant product management teams Lead or support internal approval processes, coordinating with risk, middle office, and other support areas to ensure seamless execution Provide training and guidance to junior team members and stakeholders on securitisation best practices, regulatory changes, and market developments
Your skills and experiences University degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.At least 10 years of professional experience in securitisation in a German bank Minimum 7-10 years of experience in securitisation or structured finance, preferably within a major financial institution Deep knowledge of retail banking products and capital regulation Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with proficiency in structuring complex transactions and understanding regulatory requirements Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business guidance for senior management High level of initiative, independence, and adaptability; able to deliver high-quality results under time pressure and changing parameters Ability to work effectively in a global team with a strong capability to motivate and encourage colleagues and to resolve conflicts Excellent oral and written communication skills in both German and English
