Amazon Munich is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic accounting team, combining operational excellence with innovative thinking. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy while identifying and implementing process improvements. Your work will directly impact our financial operations, and you'll have the opportunity to explore and develop AI-driven solutions that enhance our accounting processes.
In this role, you'll manage essential operational accounting tasks, including month-end and quarter-end closes, while actively contributing to process optimization projects. You'll work with international teams to ensure smooth financial operations and collaborate on implementing innovative solutions. We're particularly excited about integrating AI technologies into our accounting processes, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas and help develop these initiatives.
We're looking for someone who combines solid accounting knowledge with a curiosity for technology and innovation. You should be comfortable with operational accounting tasks while maintaining an eye for process improvements. A technical mindset and interest in AI applications in finance is highly valuable, as you'll be involved in developing and implementing automated solutions. Your ability to balance day-to-day accounting responsibilities with forward-thinking improvements will be key to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities
Drive and participate in national and international accounting projects
Worldwide business partnering within the Amazon group, liaising with Tax and Legal departments
Responsibility for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of financial books.
Assessment and evaluation of GAAP to GAAP differences
Drive improvements in accounting processes, internal workflows and the implementation of best practices
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge in US-GAAP or IFRS and any other local GAAP
- Demonstrated professional experience in accounting, preferably gained within a Big Four accounting audit firm and / or a multinational organization
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English
- Proficient Microsoft Excel User
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
- Demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex accounting and/or financial reporting challenges
- Entrepreneurial, hands on, can-do attitude and ability to think outside the box
