Amazon Fashion & Sport is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to help grow our portfolio of fashion and sports brands. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of how customers shop for fashion and sport products online.
As a BDM, you will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and onboarding strategic brand partners that align with Amazon’s long-term vision. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams across category management, marketing and operations to deliver a seamless onboarding experience for brands and ensure their long-term success on the platform.
Key job responsibilities
• Brand Acquisition: Proactively identify and recruit fashion and sports brands that are well-positioned for success on Amazon. Develop tailored pitches and strategic proposals to bring them onboard.
• Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with external brand stakeholders, acting as their key point of contact during the onboarding process.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and gaps in Amazon’s current brand offering.
• Project Management: Coordinate internal resources to support the launch of new brands, ensuring their operational readiness and optimizing their go-to-market strategy.
• Performance Analysis: Track and report on acquisition metrics and brand performance, using data to drive recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with category teams, legal, operations, finance, and marketing to support strategic initiatives and streamline brand integration.
• Strong Commercial Acumen: A proven ability to identify growth opportunities and negotiate high-impact partnerships.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Confident in crafting and delivering compelling presentations and business cases to C-level executives.
• Customer Obsession: A relentless focus on delivering value to both brand partners and Amazon customers.
• Analytical Thinking: Data-savvy, with the ability to analyze performance metrics and market trends to inform decision-making.
• Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results on tight timelines.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter with a bias for action and a drive to innovate and challenge the status quo.
• Team Player: Collaborative, low-ego, and comfortable navigating a highly matrixed organization.
• Italian and/ or French langauge skills would be a plus
• Experience working in or with fashion/sport brands
