The Sr Product Engineer Drivetrain will provide specialized technical support to US and Canada dealers and work with BMWAG to develop and provide technical updates and repairs to the dealer body for all BMW and MINI vehicles related to Drivetrain and E-Mobility systems. This includes developing interim repair solutions and working with AG on permanent solutions. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance on Drivetrain and E-Mobility related systemic product problems via TSARA and phone conversations. Create and submit reports to BMW AG on trends identified for Drivetrain issues. Independently monitor Drivetrain and E-Mobility related diagnostic/programming and product problems occurring at retail centers or on vehicles in customer’s possession. Independently develop reliable, high quality, written and verbal communications and reports. Present/communicate all findings related to Drivetrain and E-Mobility technical problems to BMW AG Development Engineers including Factory Engineers in order to quickly obtain a viable production/field solution. Develop, write and publish Service Information Bulletins, Service Actions and Recalls to retail centers following applicable procedures. Process, validate and publish technical fixes released as TSARA Measures in a timely manner. Prepare Drivetrain and E-Mobility technical issue updates and present them in the monthly BMW Service Roundtable and MINI Bonnet Boots and Wings. Serves as lead Drivetrain and E-Mobility Technical Expert witness; supports BMW NA Legal Department in formulating defense strategies, produce expert reports, participate in depositions, court testimonies, etc. Independently gather or ensure availability of all relevant Drivetrain and E-Mobility information about reported or perceived product, diagnostic/programming problems including but not limited to warranty data, TSARA Information, parts availability and cost, frequency of occurrence, detail of customer complaint if applicable, conditions and details of reported problem. Monitor data from social media reports and customer welcome calls and report new issues to AG as needed. The selected candidate’s education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. Qualifikation: Requirements: 5-7 years’ experience with 7+ preferred in the auto industry in OEM, or retail organization. Proven knowledge of Drivetrain and E-Mobility systems, including diagnosis and programming of electrical components. Preferences: Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering preferred. BMW work experience would be advantageous Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills Equivalent of BMW Master Technician certification BMW Blitz 4 Aus (HV-3) Certification INCA (Integrated Calibration and Application Tool) experience Microsoft Windows and Office, BMW Group programming and diagnostic software, excellent telephone, and email skills.
