Summary:
The intern in purchasing will be responsible for supporting the procurement process by researching and communicating with suppliers, analyzing data to identify cost savings, collaborating with other departments, developing procurement policies and procedures, and participating in supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the procurement of goods and services from suppliers, which may involve researching potential vendors, gathering quotes, and support buyers in negotiating pricing and terms.
- Analyzing data to identify trends and potential cost savings.
- Communicating with suppliers to resolve issues or obtain information.
- Participating with the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures and creating documentation for purchasing processes or helping to improve existing procedures.
- Participating in supplier audits or evaluations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in technical school or associate degree program in Supply Chain or a related program.
- Proficient in the use of computers utilizing Windows programs as well as the ability to learn and use SAP operating system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
