As an Technical Application Support Engineer you will be providing technical L2 application support for business applications across several lines of business utilizing a follow the sun support model. The AFC (Anti-Financial Crime) line of business has a current portfolio of 20 applications. The organization is in process of transforming itself using Google Cloud and many new technology offerings.

Your key responsibilities

• Provide hands on technical support and post-mortem root cause analysis using ITIL standards of Incident Management, Service Request fulfillment, Change Management, Knowledge Management, and Problem Management.

• Actively address and work on user and system tickets in the Service Now ticketing application. Create and implement change tickets for enhancements, new monitoring, and assisting development groups.

• Build up technical subject matter expertise on the applications being supported including business flows, application architecture, and hardware configuration. Maintain documentation, knowledge articles, and runbooks.

• Conduct real time monitoring to ensure application OLA/SLAs are achieved and maximum application availability (up time) using an array of monitoring tools.

• Approach support with a proactive attitude, desire to seek root cause, in-depth analysis and triage, and strive to reduce inefficiencies and manual efforts.

Your skills and experiences

• Strong understanding of ITIL /SRE/ DEVOPS best practices for supporting a production environment.

• Knowledgeable in cloud products like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and hybrid applications.

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) – searching logs, process commands, start/stop processes, use of OS commands to aid in tasks needed to resolve or investigate issues. Shell scripting knowledge a plus.

• Working knowledge of Ansible,Elastic Search, Tomcat, OpenShift, Ansible, Grafana, and Prometheus, the ITRS Geneos monitoring tool or equivalent, Control-M enterprise scheduling

• Ability to perform Oracle query creation, execution, and efficient usage of SQL Developer
