We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied master's thesis in the area of AI perception and radiance field reconstructions for autonomous driving. State-of-the-art deep neural networks are used for perception tasks, for example, semantic segmentation. For 3D reconstruction and novel view synthesis, AI-based radiance field reconstructions can be used to reconstruct the environment. Both techniques can be combined to create specialized reconstructions of the environment.   What awaits you? Close collaboration in a team within the BMW research department. Transformation of vehicle sensor data to 3D reconstructed maps with meta information automatically gathered from these reconstructions. Generate novel views with augmented meta information using radiance fields and other techniques. You will develop new approaches for autonomous driving perception simulations.   Please note that your thesis must be supervised by a university on your part.   What should you bring along? Strong knowledge in machine learning. Knowledge in computer vision, familiarity with Neural Radiance fields or Gaussian Splatting is a plus. Strong programming skills.
