Value Engineer – Electronics / Semiconductors (m/f/diverse) Apply now Value Engineer – Electronics / Semiconductors (m/f/diverse) Description In this role you will be responsible for ensuring cost optimization and cost transparency for our components business (radar, camera, lidar, ADCU) within the Value Engineering department across the entire product lifecycle regarding electronics, mainly with a focus on semiconductors.The focus here is on determining cost potential in electronic design, both in the early design/ concept phase and during the acquisition of new projects and beyond. You will work in close cooperation with the development/ purchasing departments in order to promote cost optimization for our products in the best possible way. You will also contribute your knowledge in the field of semiconductors and show alternatives to the project through targeted market observations.The position can be filled in Lindau, Riemerling (close to Munich), Frankfurt or Ulm.Your tasks will focus on the following activities: Leading interdisciplinary value engineering projects to optimize costs for electronic components with a focus on semiconductors Identification of cost reduction measures for electronic components based on cost calculations, considering optimized manufacturing processes, logistics concepts and cost structures Leading cost discussions with product development, purchasing, external partners, customers, and suppliers based on deep technical understanding and defining negotiation approaches for implementing cost reduction initiatives Functional cost analysis of block diagrams and circuit diagrams as well as identification of cost drivers incl. cost optimization potentials Validation of customer and supplier offers Continuous market analysis with a focus on trends in semiconductor technology Evaluation of competitive products and implementation of possible potential for existing and future projects Strategic cost planning (focus on electronics/ semiconductors) of new products, technologies, and production concepts with the goal of creating overall cost transparency Qualifications Academic degree in electrical engineering, (industrial) engineering or a comparable qualification Profound professional experience in the field of electronic components and circuit design in the areas of R&D, calculation, purchasing or sales, ideally at an electronics manufacturer or in the semiconductor industry Very good knowledge in the field of value analysis and cost analysis In-depth knowledge in cost calculation, manufacturing technology and the procurement market for electronic components, ideally also for semiconductors Negotiation experience with customers and suppliers MS Office 365, industry standard calculation tools, SAP R/3 Business fluent English language skills, written and spoken Strong analytical thinking skills and structured way of working Very good presentation, moderation, and communication skills Applications from severely handicapped people are welcome.
