Amazon is looking for an analytical and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our 3P Selection team. This role requires an individual with strong analytical abilities, solid business acumen, and comfort with technical systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities
• Partner with the 3P Selection team to leverage techniques from econometrics, computer science, and statistics to measure seller experience and its impact on selection growth
• Build and maintain data pipelines and analytics solutions to track selection metrics across EU marketplaces
• Create innovative dashboards and reporting tools to support selection growth strategies and catalog gap analysis
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Data Scientists to develop selection guidance tools and frameworks
• Support strategic decision-making through advanced analytics and data-driven insights
• Drive automation and improvement of selection reporting mechanisms
• Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze selection trends and opportunities
A day in the life
• Work with large-scale datasets to analyze selection patterns and identify growth opportunities
• Develop and maintain dashboards tracking key selection metrics across EU marketplaces
• Support the implementation of AI/ML solutions for selection optimization
• Create automated reporting solutions for tracking selection growth and catalog gaps
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide data-driven insights to support strategic selection initiatives
About the team
The 3P Selection team is responsible for driving Amazon's EU marketplace selection strategy, managing a catalog of 2.3B items. You'll work alongside Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other BIEs to develop and implement solutions that enhance selection growth and improve the seller experience across EU marketplaces.
Key job responsibilities
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
• Strong experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
• Proven track record in the data/BI space
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in the data/BI space
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
