Summary:
The incumbent is directly responsible for identifying market, product portfolio and individual customer strategies and opportunities. The position requires a strategic thinking, self-starting individual who can interact with varying personal backgrounds, abilities and educational levels in both a business and social environment within the NA Pulp and Paper Industry. The person must be willing to travel 60% or more and develop new, as well as maintain existing business relationships. Should be able to communicate clearly and be a good listener.
Responsibilities:
- Grow Voith’s Winder Service business in NA. by building a team to service the North American market.
- Create, maintain, and leverage personal relationships with customers in the NA paper market pertaining to Winder Services opportunities and activity
- Develop strategies for each account to take the customer on a journey of improving their winders i.e. Rebuilds, modifications etc.
- Manage a schedule for frequent customer visits based on expected activity of customers collaborating with the territory Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
- Prepare and participate in capability presentations to new and existing customers
- Interface with Applications, Engineering and Automation Service in support of efficient sales and service functions
- Coordinate market information, sales forecasts, market studies as needed
- Provide all necessary information for quotations and technical assistance to new and existing customers
- Participate in technical and commercial negotiation of orders
- Accountable for reaching yearly orders received forecasts for Winder Service business in NA
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university or 5-10 years’ experience in paper making process, Winders. Subject matter expert in Winder Operations.
- Self-starter who can recognize and develop opportunities independently
- A team player
- Ability to identify potential opportunities and projects at an early stage, strategic mindset
- Read and interpret customer specifications, scientific/trade journals and terms & conditions
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain successful customer relations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to influence others
- Negotiation Skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Physical Demands:
Employees in this position are regularly required to walk, stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear and regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. Safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE are required in designated areas.
