Position Overview
Details of the role:
The CRM Global Credit Financing and Solutions (GCFS) team supports a number of structured lending businesses, including Infrastructure & Energy (I&E) (asset & project finance), Direct Lending (structured and corporate lending), Credit Solutions (liquid/illiquid financial asset financing), Distressed Product Group (secondary market loan trading book, new money banking book, loan restructurings and direct equity investments)
The role is based in Berlin and part of a global team that covers regional portfolios in EMEA and the Americas. Transactions are typically complex, highly structured, secured, often non-recourse, with the I&E business providing financing solutions to international infrastructure sponsors & asset owners.
Your key responsibilities:
Performing credit analysis and portfolio management for a defined set of counterparties with focus on project finance and reserve based lending
Reviewing and evaluating operational and financial reporting of borrowers
Reviewing new credit requests, assessing credit risks and repayment capacity, assessing valuations
Reviewing financial models, business plans and financial projections, including downside scenario analysis
Producing credit ratings and assessing compliance with risk appetite and regulatory and policy requirements
Recommending changes to ratings as and additions to credit watchlist where appropriate
Managing day-to-day tasks for internal approval processes and transaction management
Interfacing and collaborating with other areas within the Bank, including front office, portfolio management and support functions within Risk, Finance and Operations and external auditors and regulatory authorities
Your skills and experiences:
University degree preferably in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics
Several years of experience in a financial institution, specifically within a lending or credit risk function
Ability to understand complex financing structures across a variety of jurisdictions and products, including senior debt or junior debt
Ability to evaluate cash flow projections and valuations
Understanding of loan documentation and other legal concepts
Proficient in English (spoken and written), German language skills beneficial
Ability to work independently under time pressure and focus on multiple transactions at once
Detail-focused and able to present information in a structured, clear and concise way
Strong time management skills, ability to cope with large information volumes
