Criticality Advisor Derby Vollzeit JR6076658 Stellenbeschreibung We have an exciting opportunity for a Criticality Advisor within the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business. This is an opportunity to be part of the Regeneration of the Raynesway Nuclear Licenced Site. This once in a lifetime major infrastructure programme is replacing the current facilities with modern state of the art manufacturing capability. Our Submarines Business is responsible for the design, manufacture, supply and through-life support of nuclear propulsion-related products and systems in support of the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. We support the Royal Navy as the Technical Authority for all UK Naval Reactor Submarine Plants, and we're continuing to build our nuclear sector capability to support the development of a new nuclear plant for future submarines. We are looking for a capable and proactive individual to join our growing team and be responsible for leading chemical process engineering packages. You will be working across multiple projects and lifecycle stages in order to ensure that the areas under your responsibility meet both our engineering and project requirements. You will be able to interact with various stakeholders both internal and external to the business in order to be successful. Although experience of working with nuclear facilities is certainly advantageous, we invite applications from those that are interested in redeploying their existing capabilities in a new area. What is most important is having the right approach; you need to be someone who can work with and influence engineers from other disciplines so that chemical engineering is an integral part of the overall engineering solution. As a Criticality Advisor, you will be a member of the Nuclear Safety Case team, and will have specific responsibilities for the provision of specialist criticality advice to support nuclear safety cases for two Licensed Sites. The Licensed Sites are crucial to the timely provision of components to the Royal Navy’s Submarine fleet. Key Accountabilities: Set out the Criticality Safety Strategy for Capital Build projects and act as the intelligent customer for criticality safety in the supply chain. Produce Nuclear Safety Case documentation and under-pinning technical assessments to justify the Safety of facility design and operation, with a focus on criticality safety. Provide the Licensee with expert knowledge on criticality consequence modelling and an input to drive inherent safety in high hazard process design Direct support to the Engineering Manager to engage and develop healthy relationships with external regulators. Engage with the other licensees and learned bodies to ensure out technical capability is at the forefront of the industry. Advice on legislative requirements of NIA 1965, REPPIR 2000 and criticality safety best practice. Provide general criticality safety advice, independent peer review, technical checking for Licensed site documentation and carry out criticality safety assessments and produce reports as required Qualifications: Degree in Physics, Engineering or Chemistry or equivalent A high level of numeracy and an analytical approach are essential The ability to build strong working relationships with staff from all levels and disciplines We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a minimum of an Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
