As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Customer Solutions Manager (CSM) you will be responsible for helping guide the largest and most complex AWS customers along their multi-year journey to the cloud. In this highly visible position you will ensure that all AWS teams are working together effectively and efficiently to deliver outcomes for the customer.
Key job responsibilities
A Customer Solutions Manager (CSM) serves as a trusted technical advisor who accelerates cloud adoption and drives customer business outcomes. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and AWS partners to ensure customer success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diving deep with the customer to determine their desired business outcomes
- Working backward from the customer's desired business outcomes to formulate solutions leveraging a vast array of AWS resources
- Serving as the voice-of-the-customer to the teams who build AWS services to ensure customer success
- Engaging at both the executive and project levels within the customer's organization
- Creating and executing on comprehensive customer enablement plans to help ensure customer success
- Tracking progress of multiple customer projects, mitigating risks, and knowing when to escalate
- Maintaining leadership communication on status and metrics
The CSM must possess:
- Strong program management experience with large technical transformations
- Superior stakeholder management and communication skills
- IT and cloud technology understanding
- 4+ years leading complex IT/technical programs
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent experience
The role focuses on helping customers through their cloud journey by guiding organizational change, mitigating risks, optimizing costs, and serving as a critical link between strategy and execution. CSMs are measured on goals like onboarding, solution adoption, and migration success.

- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related field
- Experience in leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion
- Experience working in enterprise IT, either as a vendor, consultant or have prior experience working with or managing technical programs
- Experience in customer-facing roles
- AWS or other cloud certification
- Knowledge of the software development/engineering lifecycle from conception to delivery or IT lifecycle
- Experience coordinating between project teams and customers to meet unique customer requirements
