Global Category Manager (m/f/d)

Your tasks
- Develop and execute a global procurement strategy for a specific category of direct materials (balance of plant mechanical or for example field service), aligning with the company’s broader procurement and business objectives.
- You will be responsible for a category with annual global sales of approx. 50 million euros, leading a global category management team across all regions with approximately 3-5 regional category managers.
- Together with our regional supply chain organizations and engineering teams you will drive cost optimization, supplier innovation, risk management, value creation and quality on a global scale through effective supplier relationship and performance management, market analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
- You will take full responsibility for our global supplier base within your category providing our global organization in the offer phase as well as in the project execution phase with a competitive and excellent performing supplier base.
- Furthermore, you will negotiate contracts with suppliers, including price, service level agreements and risk sharing mechanisms (drafting, negotiating, and signing global contracts and long-term agreements) while managing the global contract portfolio in our procurement platform.
- Thereby you incorporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) criteria into the category strategy and thus contribute to long-term ecological and social goals.
Your profile
- Successfully completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, supply chain management, mechanical engineering or a comparable field.
- Ideally 10 years of professional experience in operational and strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement in a global environment, preferably in the project business.
- Proficiency in procurement software such as SAP, PurOne and other digital sourcing platforms.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are advantageous.
- Fluency in English are required as well as willingness to travel worldwide (approx. 30-50%). This role will be based in one of the global Voith Hydro facilities in São Paulo, St. Pölten or Shanghai .
- Strong communication skills, a high amount of team spirit in combination with leadership skills are needed to be able to functionally lead global multifunctional teams.
