Head of Controlling EMEA - Voith Hydro

In this key role, you will significantly shape the financial and strategic direction of the EMEA region. You will work closely with the EMEA Executive Team as well as the controlling, commercial project management and finance functions of the eight Operating Units. Your goal: drive financial performance, transformation, and financial and operational excellence across the entire region.
Key Responsibilities

Act as a strategic business partner to the EMEA Executive Team by providing analyses, insights, and recommendations to improve financial performance and support strategic initiatives.

Lead the controlling and reporting functions of the EMEA Operating Units.

Ensure and establish consistent, harmonized controlling, reporting, and finance processes across all Operating Units.

Drive transformation activities, including setting up an integrated regional controlling structure, identifying further Shared Services potential and defining suitable interfaces, and advancing the digitalization and automation of processes.

Lead and facilitate regular performance reviews with Operating Unit leadership teams, covering financial results as well as key market, commercial, and operational topics.

Conduct regular financial controlling of monthly actuals and rolling forecasts to ensure accurate and timely reporting across all EMEA units.

Develop and implement use cases for the automation and digitalization of workflows and processes.

Collaborate closely with Commercial Project Management, divisional finance teams, and the Shared Service units of the Voith Group.

Work with key stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Project Management, Project Execution, Sales) to align financial strategies with business requirements.

Manage complex regional strategic projects and post-merger integrations, and ensure alignment with regional and overall financial goals.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

5–10 years of experience in a comparable role, ideally in the project business or EPC industry.

Experience with relevant IT systems (in particular ERP/SAP and BI), strong Excel skills, and knowledge of data analytics and process mining/automation tools. Knowledge of and experience with Robotic Process Automation and Generative AI technologies are a plus.

Fluency in German and English.

Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills.

Excellent analytical capabilities, a data-driven mindset, and strong problem-solving skills.

Experience in transformation, change management, and working with (or building) Shared Service organizations.

Strong communication and influencing skills when working with senior leadership.

High intercultural competence and the ability to work effectively across regions and functions.

Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize in dynamic environments.

Willingness to travel up to 25%.
