With Amazon Pay we connect merchants with any Amazon customer in the world, delivering identity and payment services that remove friction for consumers and help merchant grow their sales. Our objective is to make Amazon Pay a ubiquitous payment option for customers. Today Amazon Pay is available in 18 countries, enabling merchants to leverage our trusted, seamless buying experience to allow more than 300 million active Amazon customers to purchase from them. In 2024 we are embarking on an exciting 5-year plan that allows us to better serve our customers and will increase our presence by 30x.

We are looking for a Head of EU Strategic Account Management (SAM). This senior leader oversees Strategic Account Management teams across EU that focus on managing the most strategic merchants already adopting Amazon Pay, creating opportunities for them to grow and develop their business with us. This leader fully owns the design and execution of the strategy to grow the most important merchants in the EU portfolio, increasing the relevance of Amazon Pay for the merchant and the customers and developing long-lasting value for both. They work closely with the Head of US SAM and WW Amazon Pay Integration, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering functions and other Amazon teams to implement their strategy. They report to the Director of Amazon Pay US and Europe, helping to shape the strategic priorities of this global business.

The ideal candidate has a record of accomplishment of building, rolling out and managing new merchant and consumer businesses. They have experience defining and implementing global strategies to: uniquely understand unmet buyer and seller needs; build technology driven offering that facilitate commerce for consumers and merchants; roll-out services with various go-to-market partners; operate commerce related services in a profitable way. This role requires an individual who can combine innovation and a passion for building with a strong mind for operations, execution, and growth in a fast-moving emerging business. They will be able to interface with technology leaders and client executives, able to translate from needs to solution, from specifications to benefits. They will have operated in a senior management capacity and earned the trust of technology and go-to-market teams. They will combine the ability to engage at senior levels while remaining connected to detail, unafraid to operate on the front line as a creative problem solver. Crucially, they will have built high performance commercial and/or operations teams.

The role can be based in one of our 3 European hubs: Luxembourg, Munich and London

BEVORZUGTE QUALIFIKATIONEN

- Knowledge of the Payments industry, with experience on payment strategies, programs and processes
- Experience in developing and delivering merchant services products
- Experience leading sales, account management and/or marketing teams and owning customer experience, preferably in the context of a B2B2C services and marketplaces
- P&L responsibility and a proven track record of growing top-line and bottom-line
