About the Team and the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, data driven, customer focused, and innovative senior leader to lead our Professional Seller Analytics area.

This role is focussed on supporting the Selling function and the incumbent candidate is encouraged to be a trusted thought partner to senior leaders in BU and Product and deliver critical insights to help eBay achieve its professional selling goals.

What you Will Accomplish:

• Formulating and owning OKR's and metrics align​ed to the company and data strategy to give direction and to measure project success.

• Provide experienced technical leadership in analytical approaches to juniors who may directly or indirectly report into you and contribute to building an outstanding analytics function at eBay.

• Seek opportunities to inject tools based advanced analytical techniques into the commercial functions

• Advise on prioritisation of projects and initiative based on business impact

• Work closely with analytics teams across business & product to drive effective recommendations and initiatives

• Handling partners to ensure alignment on output, timeline & expectations.

What You Will Bring:

• Outstanding business judgment and deep analytical capability

• Ability to work with multiple team members and thrive in a cross-functional environment

• Strong communication abilities with Senior Leaders, GMs, executives

• Ability to resolve and evaluate the right metrics that would gather the impact of business actions

• Expertise in data Excel, PowerPoint skills and database query skills (e.g., SQL)

• Ability to look at the business from a growth lens but grounded in analytical thinking and iterative goal-seek

Preferred Experience/ Skills

• Customer focus: Solving problems for our customers comes first

• Strong analytical skills in order to be able to challenge, influence and make recommendations within the business to improve seller experience

• Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior management / stakeholders to lead change

• Action bias: Taking ownership and prefers to moving quickly, working around challenges/ obstacles

• Hard-working and driven to make an impact and get results for the business

• Experience in Data Analytics from defining metrics, to deep-dive analysis, to experimentation and forecasting

• Strong curiosity about e-commerce and customer-centric analysis

• Builder: Experience in building tools and/or working with product teams

Job Requirements

• Degree level education or equivalent experience

• Strong expertise in SQL & Excel

• Knowledge of Python, R, or similar preferred

• Demonstrable experience working in analytics

• Highly numerate and analytical

• Passionate about E-commerce

• Comfortable operating with multiple priorities and objectives

• Upbeat, flexible, and comfortable with leading through ambiguity in a trust-based, human way

• Energized, creative, proactive and enthusiastic - willing to take initiative with confidence
