Summary: This job involves controlling processes to ensure adherence to specifications and using precision measuring equipment to inspect parts. It also requires using appropriate personal protective equipment, and performing tasks like preparing rolls for shipping, cleaning roll parts, and assisting with loading and unloading trucks and machines.
Responsibilities:
- Control processes to maintain conformance to specifications.
- Inspects and measures part to determine conformance to specifications through use of precision measuring equipment.
- Proper use of PPE for specific tasks related to each manufacturing operation.
- Clean and prepare roll parts for reassembly.
- Prepare and wrap rolls for shipping.
- Ball hone roll shells. Wash roll shells and boxes.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks. Assist in loading and unloading machines.
- Prepare and skid parts for shipment.
- Bring shipping containers and skids from outside to crate rolls.
- Load and unload rolls from saddles.
Required skills:
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong housekeeping skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills, mechanical aptitude and reading comprehension skills
- Ability to operate all fork trucks and cranes safely.
- Ability to accurately and safely work with chemicals used in the manufacturing plant.
- The ability to read and understand the Work Instructions and Production Specifications.
Education and experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 2-Year vocational degree beneficial
Physical Demands
- Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a fit test.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 70 lbs. and push/pull 150 lbs.
