ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION BOARD AREA The Technology & Innovation (T&I) board area is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development such as SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP HANA. In addition, T&I drives the incubation and adoption of intelligent technologies like Analytics and Machine Learning across SAP’s product portfolio. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value. THE ROLE As a software development student in our Strategic Development Projects Team you will have the chance to work on a variety of high-priority development projects, that will demonstrate the value of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), such as strategic customer projects and innovation topics. Guided by senior developer colleagues you will have the chance to directly interact with stakeholders and users to perform all necessary tasks from requirements engineering, software design, implementation, testing, and deployment. You will work in an agile group of students and experienced colleagues with a tech and design background to bring ideas together and jointly deliver exiting projects. We are looking for a software engineering student with a broad understanding of the software development process. You should be able to join a software development project at every stage in the process to craft what is needed to deliver a great experience to end users. Beyond your main project, you will also be invited to explore and support other activities of our team, such as the development of demos for executive keynotes or BTP technology showcases. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences, preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field Computer skills: Solid foundation knowledge in computer science and software engineering methodology Programming skills in frontend (e.g., TypeScript, ReactJS, Svelte, …) and/or backend (e.g., Java, SQL, Python, NodeJS) technologies as well as source code management (e.g., git) Experience in crafting web designs (HTML/CSS) and knowledge about UX fundamentals and methods Knowledge in database systems are a plus (e.g. SAP HANA, CouchDB,…) Experience in DevOps are a plus (e.g., Continuous Integration using Jenkins or Travis) Language skills: Fluent in German or English (written and spoken) Soft skills: Eager to learn about new technologies Hands-on, reliable and open-minded mentality Strong team working skills Determined to reach a goal in time, to work independently and to prioritize tasks WORK EXPERIENCE This position is entry level.
