We are a leading global research organization with over 3000 employees working in the field of material and analytical science, chemical synthesis, process development, bioscience, catalysis and digitalization. With our creative and diverse teams as well as our cutting-edge research, we help to make our customers more successful and drive the sustainability transformation.
Our research group works on the development of modern safety engineering solutions to ensure the safe operation of production plants. Our main focus is on model-based safety methods for polymerization reactions. Process data is used "online" in thermodynamic and kinetic models to reliably detect and prevent critical operating states in production plants. In addition to the technical equipment parameters, the material data used in the model and their dependence on the operating parameters also play a decisive role.
- You will support the team in modeling and adapting material property data.
- In addition, you will use an existing program (in Matlab) for material property data modelling and provide support for further development and optimization.
- You will estimate which improvements can be achieved in the plant through your work.
- master's student in the fields of process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable courses of study
- experience with programming in Matlab or Python
- enthusiasm for deriving pragmatic and resilient solutions for practical application from theoretical knowledge
- confident communication in German or English
- high degree of initiative, commitment and independence
- structured way of working to achieve success together
- You will be part of the BASF team from day one.
