Join Amazon Music's Programming Team in Germany and Austria to curate content experiences that connect fans with the artists and tracks they'll love.

As a Junior Music Programmer, you'll combine your knowledge of music, from contemporary charts to catalogue music, with data insights to curate a content portfolio that resonates with diverse audiences. You'll champion new music releases and emerging trends, collaborating with international teams while focusing on delivering exceptional listening experiences for our local customers.

Whether it's playlists, stations, exclusive content, or new artist discoveries, you'll help innovate at the intersection of music and culture across the Amazon Music service.

Key job responsibilities
• Contribute to key parts of the music experience of our service by creating and refining curated content
• Identify innovation and simplification opportunities in existing processes and mechanisms and propose optimization approaches
• Be the voice of new music releases and trends internally and externally across several genres
• Gather, analyze, report, and act on listener engagement and content usage data
• Collaborate with international stakeholders to contribute to strategic workstreams, and deliver added value projects
• Obsess over the quality of the music experience of our service, identifying, influencing and actioning improvements for our customers




A day in the life
As a Music Programmer, you'll review streaming data and engagement metrics to identify content performance and emerging trends in the German and Austrian markets. You'll collaborate with local, regional and global colleagues to align on global music releases, ensuring local relevance.

Throughout the day, you'll curate and refine playlists and stations, selecting tracks that resonate with diverse listener preferences, from Gen Z discovering new artists to fans exploring their favourite genres. You'll analyse and prepare reports on customer engagement and listening patterns for the team to optimize content placement, then work with marketing and label partners to coordinate new release campaigns. Regular touchpoints and mechanisms with your Programming Team peers will help you share insights and contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance the Amazon Music experience for customers across Germany and Austria.

About the team
The Amazon Music Programming Team's mission is to curate the best listening experience for our customers, highlighting the most relevant content from a diverse range of genres, moods and activities. As a music programmer, you will use your content expertise and data insights to actively influence and evolve our content portfolio and associated initiatives. We work across voice and visual experiences and collaborate with local, regional and global peers and stakeholder teams as well as our music industry partners.

Grundqualifikationen

- Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes, and make data-driven decisions
- In-depth knowledge across a range of musical styles, and of current trends and history in the German music industry
- Ability to create content for specific audiences across genres
- Fluent in written and verbal English and German (equivalent to CEFR C1/C2)

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

- Knowledge of Gen Z media habits and curiosity to understand new trends
- Experience in Excel with advanced proficiency (pivots, lookups, etc.)
- Experience working in Music Streaming environments
- Experience with GenAI Tools
