Laboratory Head (m/f/d) in vivo Pharmacology & Inflammation Frankfurt am Main Vollzeit R2611559 Job overview We are looking for a Scientist (m/f/d) to join our in vivo pharmacology group within the Immunology & Inflammation Department as a head of laboratory. The group focuses on early drug discovery for indications of the rheumatology and inflammatory skin and bowel disease spectrum, mainly driven by Th1 and Th17 biology, and provides in vivo pharmacology support and expertise across multiple research project teams. As laboratory head, the role encompasses both operational support and expertise as well as drug discovery project leadership ranging from target identification and validation through preclinical candidate stage and early development strategy up to clinical proof of concept. Responsibilities Head an in vivo pharmacology laboratory and supervise a team of lab technicians. Provide routine pharmacology support as dedicated project team member. Responsible and accountable for in vivo profiling strategy. Develop and refine new translational animal models and ex vivo assays. Develop a deep understanding of relevant disease and target biology. Conceive and lead new drug discovery programs from target validation stage throughout preclinical development candidate nomination. Project leaders are responsible for overall project strategy aligned with a clear patient-first focus and differentiated project narrative. Support developing a translational medicine strategy and biomarker plan as member of early clinical development teams. Requirements Ph.D./MD/DVM trained in Biology, Biomedical Science, Rheumatology, or related disciplines; >2 years post-doctoral experience required. Strong background and profound knowledge in immunology is mandatory; experience in drug development (pharma, biotech), particularly in the field of autoimmunity, is advantageous. FELASA or equivalent animal experimentation qualification and/or authorization as per German Animal Welfare law, with proven experience in animal experimentation. Self-driven, creative, and passionate team player interested to work in interdisciplinary teams. Hands on experience with standard methods such as flow cytometry, cell sorting, multiplex cytokine profiling etc. Knowledge in computational methods in data science and analysis of multi-omics data sets. Fluency in English, German language is a plus.
