Land Manager, Wind Power Offshore, Vattenfall

We are looking for a Land Manager, UK Offshore Wind who will oversee onshore land management activities during the development and delivery phases of all our UK offshore wind projects. The role will require experience of securing and managing land agreements, as well as excellent communication skills to build long-term relationship with relevant stakeholders and authorities. The Land Manager will work within Business Area Wind’s ‘Consenting’ team which brings together offshore wind permitting, land and consultation expertise from across the markets in which we operate.

Your responsibilities as Land Manager, UK Offshore Wind:

To act as a centre of expertise in all matters relating to land and landowner/agent relationships for our UK offshore wind project portfolio, and also provide experience on land issues to experts in other countries.
The Land Manager will work with Project Managers and Project Teams in all matters relating to land agreements and land management for the benefit of projects. With the support of consultants, you will oversee land owner identification, discussions, negotiation, agreements and ongoing management of these agreements in order to successfully deliver projects. You will also provide valuation advice as required. Working with engineering, communications, legal and development staff, you will ensure that land arrangements reflect the needs of the project and ensure adherence to project budgets and timescales. Throughout the projects, the Land Manager will be required to understand the risks in relation to land and put in place strategies to reduce these risks.
As well as projects in development, the Land Manager will provide advice to our Portfolio and Transactions team on risks in relation to new sites and acquisition.
Although the role will centre on the UK portfolio, the role will involve sharing experience with the consenting teams in the other countries in which we operate.
The Land Manager will be required to promote a safety conscious environment.
Your qualifications as a Land Manager, UK Offshore Wind:

• Multi-skilled self-starter, with high levels of energy & commitment to deliver
• A relevant qualification in Land Management or equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Awareness of renewable energy policy and its impact on project development
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to function well in a team environment and be able to build and develop long-term relationships with all stakeholder groups
• An aptitude for complex negotiation and good communication skills
• An interest in sharing knowledge with colleagues in other countries
• Good understanding of basic health and safety regulations and requirements
• RICS membership beneficial

Previous experience of working within the wind industry is an advantage but is not required.
