Technisches Labor Goodwood 14.02.2024 Lead Specialist Material & Process Analysis, Goodwood Laboratory We are offering you an exciting opportunity to work at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars as Lead Specialist Material & Process Analysis in the technical laboratory.   Take a leading role in the coordination and delivery of TWA based materials technology investigations and project activities focusing on the non-metal and metal teams as dictated by business requirements and production needs. The main areas of interest for this position are fabrics, leather, wood and metal testing.   What awaits you? You will be responsible for the planning, carrying out and evaluation of complex investigations and problem analyses in the areas of fabrics, leather, wood and metal testing. The spectrum includes order acceptance, sampling, sample preparation, test execution, interpretation of results, derivation of recommendations and solution approaches, as well as the preparation of test reports. The further development of test methods in the area of fabrics, leather, wood and metal testing, the equipment and the continuous improvement of existing analysis processes are also part of your tasks. Furthermore, the task includes independent coordination with internal specialist departments (e.g. planning) and suppliers, as well as advising internal partners. Due to the daily contact with various process partners, such as suppliers, developers, planners and producers, you will be involved in the entire process. Cross-site co-operation and communication with the plants and the other TWA/ laboratory sites.   What you should bring along? Study of materials science, chemistry, surface technology, plastics technology, mechanical engineering or scientifically based education and experience that are relevant to the professional role. Experience in testing or processing leather, wood, fabrics, and metals as well as mechanical testing would be an advantage. Proven experience in a laboratory environment and practical experience with material analysis in the laboratory is desirable. Experience in automotive production is desirable. Broad knowledge of production processes and BMW wider business to support technical knowledge is desirable. Analytical thinking, ability to work in a team, IT skills and a structured way of working. High level of self-motivation and reliability. Can work alone or in a multi-functional team. Very good communication and presentation skills. In-depth knowledge of problem resolution techniques and / or project management. Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental impacts..
