Manages, plans, analyzes and ensures accurate and timely recording of financial data in assigned area of inventory & reporting (inventory management, material costs and other cost of sales, and quality management) for BMW Manufacturing and BMW Consolidation Services for month-end close, budget/forecast planning, and Group reporting. Analyzes material costs for vehicles and options; measures impact of changes and variances to standards (production volume, model mix, foreign exchange, price, bill of material). Ensures accounting practices are compliant with IFRS and BMW Group guidelines. Implements and maintains internal controls for assigned area. Budgets, forecasts, and performs actual cost of sales analysis and controlling for BMW Manufacturing and BMW Consolidation Services. Designs and improves processes related to assigned area, ensuring the proper application of related internal, external, or intercompany processes and financial transactions. Develops and maintains accurate and timely transfer prices for all intercompany sales processes (vehicles, service parts, packing plant parts) to ensure accurate invoicing and reconciliation of variances between invoices and payments received. Develops transparent and uniform material cost calculation processes and ensures accurate reporting of planning data and actuals to BMW Group. Develops and documents processes to maximize efficiency and internal control in compliance with IFRS and BMW Group accounting guidelines and in accordance with record retention guidelines. Initiates system/process design, maintenance and testing of changes & system upgrades. Manages all financial activities for assigned area. Records financial data timely and performs analysis for accurate Group reporting to achieve established deadlines. Oversees projects as agreed by management including planning, concept development, implementation, documentation, testing, and training. Performs month-end inventory valuation calculations. Ensures inventory accuracy by monitoring cycle count results as needed and collaborates with process owners on inventory topics such as WIP, obsolescence, adjustments, scrap, and stock target. Performs month-end close and special projects according to business needs. Plans and forecasts material costs and monitors product cost changes to ensure accurate material cost consumption in cost of sales. Represents the department in cross-functional projects and coordinates the project needs with impacted department members. Meets internal and external regulatory reporting requirements. Monitors quality management processes related to non-conforming material and vehicles, ensures timely processing and recording of financial transactions. Consults for process partners to establish and maintain proper controls. Coordinates projects impacting accounting processes and assists in financial process reviews to ensure optimal efficiency while maintaining controls. Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving. Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. As applicable, per BMW training guidelines. CPA, CMA or other relevant certifications (preferred). 5+ years of knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS). 5+ years of knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and modeling. 5+ years of professional MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Access). 5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).BMW Manufacturing Company is an equal opportunity employer.
