Drive projects which enable the department to meet cost and efficiency targets through the application of VPS methods and standards. Supports development and creation of improvement methods to meet departmental goals. Participates on special projects for continuous improvement, structure planning, and or other series-related projects. Provides assistance with optimizing processes by increasing value-add for cost center using VPS methods. Works with team to identify and eliminate waste within the processes. Assists team within production area to improve running performance through efficiency and process improvements. Supports implementing efficiency projects to help meet and exceed targets - Hours per Vehicle, and other Production Cost Reductions including Quality and Safety improvements. Analyzes processes for strengths and weakness and implement countermeasures. Participates in the development of new process ideas generated from benchmarks and other best practices that drive future project plans. Implements additions and modifications for non-core processes. Performs improvements for part supply concepts, quantity, and techniques, flow racks and kitting containers. Participates in optimization changes for the technology process. Provides training and process improvement activities for production associates utilizing responsible systems and processes. Participates on special projects as assigned, including workshops, process or structure relocations and non-dimensional equipment modifications within areas of department responsibility, to accomplish efficiency and optimal flow through the zone. Assists with analysis on process or systems failures hindering production areas. Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving. Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. As applicable per BMW Training Guidelines 1+ years of knowledge of manufacturing processes pertaining to assigned parts and/or systems by department. 1+ years of knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 1+ years of knowledge of long and short-term project management skills. 1+ years ability to use and apply statistical problem solving methods to aid with process analysis. Basic abilities utilizing SAP, preferred. Basic knowledge of time studies or process analysis via MTM standards, preferred.
