Amazon Leo is looking for experienced, self-starter Business Development Leaders to lead adoption of Leo broadband and additional services with Leo Government customers. This is an exciting opportunity to own the definition and execution of the Amazon Leo Business Development strategy, both for government broadband services and space-space communications.
This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.
Key job responsibilities
• Execute the strategic business development plan for Leo Government Solutions’ approach to Europe Government customers, while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Amazon Leo Government product and engineering teams, legal, support)
• Identify the policy, budgetary and strategic context for Leo Government Solutions opportunities with European Government customers
• Develop customer relationships with European Government customers, including ministerial-level engagements with Leo leadership
• As the voice of the customer, your findings will influence product teams to help them evolve the products and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field. To be successful, you will need to analyze and determine key customer insights from business drivers, market trends, customer feedback, and operating metrics.
• Develop and execute an approach for pipeline discrimination and development
• Develop Service Level Agreements (SLA) which reflect government customer requirements and Leo network capabilities
• Develop strategic partnerships to build Leo Government opportunities
• Work with Amazon and Leo legal, marketing, Export Control and Public Policy teams to close government and strategic partnership opportunities
• Manage complex contract negotiations and complex business requirements and activities which deliver results
• Be adept at thinking strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus.
• Have excellent written and verbal communications including a passion for writing detailed strategic documents
• Consistently exceeds key performance metrics and Delivers Results.

This position is in based in Munich. Significant travel, both domestic and international, will be required.
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience working with new product/service development teams and their outbound functions
- Must be able to understand and articulate the business value & technical overview.
- Experience with international government SATCOM projects and needs (Specifically: Europe)
- Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners
- MBA/Technical Master’s Degree
- Fluency in one or more languages of our European customers
- Track record of building rapport with key European customers, building close relationships, and helping customers execute on large engagements.
- Motivated self-starter, proactive and action-oriented
- Strategic problem solving and collaboration skills
- Extensive experience in Satellite communication or Satellite Operations.
- Must be able to understand and articulate the business value & technical overview.
