The Senior Accountants main role is to reconcile and manage the pre assigned General Ledger accounts assigned to the individual. Another responsibility is to over see and reconcile balances with key BMW affiliates such as BMW NA and BMW FS. Among this includes Factoring between FS and BMW, an affiliate receivable account with a balance in the hundreds of millions. This Individual is also responsible for systematic issues within SAP, posting of automatic journal entries, interface related errors and bookings from the international invoicing system. Another key responsibility included in this role includes the validity and booking of all key accounts in the GL. The accountant will also be responsible for reconciling and managing key inventory accounts including cars, motorcycles and parts. This associate will also be a key part of external and internal audits.   Some of the key areas of responsibility include: Ensure accuracy of reconciliation between BMW Affiliates such as BMW AG and FS. Work closely with counter parts to ensure accuracy of balances between two parties Ensure bookings are compliant with Accounting regulations Reoncile Inventory accounts for BMW NSC. Including vehicles (BMW and MINI), Motorcycles, Parts (Including internal stock and wheels) In charge of Factoring bookings with FS and NSC. Reconciles by VIN level to determine month end balance and works with FS to determine monthly accrual SAP Interface Mapping Table and Postings Ensure all SAP interface postings in IFT are posted accurately . Ensure feed from other systems such as AS400 to SAP is working as well Responsible for complete and accurate transactions and balances in key GL accounts within the P&L and Balance sheet. Specific focus areas include overhead accounts (e.g. Ex Pat Expenses, payroll, liabilities (e.g. duties) Responsible for managing several key provisions accounts, including: Preowned spend, VPOD and 360 Spend Ensure all reconciliations involving month end and Intercompany accounts are reconciled and up to date for month end close. As acting “Audit Champion”, is a key liaison to PwC and trusting associate in representing BMW and providing the supporting analysis and documentation regarding key accounts and Intercompany processes. Specifically, the Senior Accountant will need to align the various departments and associates in ensuring the responsible G/L accounts are represented accurately and reconciled and documented clearly. In addition, the Senior Accountant will require to innovatively plan and strategize their ability to answer all questions regarding the Accounting processes and results for C4-CA Act as mentor to A/P and provide guidance and support to A/P team on a continuous basis Work with FF-5 and FS to ensure all short term and long term loans are complaint with Accounting standards and proper booking for interest is accounted for   Qualifications: University Degree – Focus on Accounting – CPA Designation Preferred 4 years Accounting Experience Fluent in English Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to meet tight deadlines   Benefits of working at BMW Group Canada include:   An award winning culture.
