Client Analytics & Strategy Tribe Technology

Corporate Banking is a technology-centric business of Deutsche Bank, with an increasing move to real-time processing, an increasing appetite from customers for integrated systems and access to supporting data.  This means that technology is more important than ever for the business.

We are part of Client Analytics & Strategy Tribe and our MIS platform called Beacon is providing analytics for all Corporate Bank businesses.  The tools and reports of the platform help users across Product Management, Sales, Coverage and ‘Implementation and Services’ to better manage and grow the business.

The main challenge of our work is to keep the data accurate and make it available for business on T+1 and some of it on the near Real Time basis.  We source the data from various financial and analytical systems in different ways (REST, Spark Jobs, SFTP, messaging) and transform it in a way that business can access it via Tableau Dashboards and Reports.  We expect the successful candidate to become familiar with most of our stack and actively contribute to the project as a Lead DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for and lead all DevOps-related tasks.  The stack consists of Oracle databases surrounded by various Python ETL’s in a Conda environment for data processing.  We also extensively using GCP products such as  BigQuery, DataFlow, Composer etc.

Your key responsibilities

• Assess current systems and processes and develop ways to improve them

• Work with other engineers to support our adoption of continuous integration and delivery, automating the build pipelines, packaging, testing and deployment of applications.

• Set up tools and required infrastructure.

• Work with developers and other IT colleagues to oversee application releases/deployments.

• Provide required production support as L2 to cover European Time Zone

• Coordinate with ITAO infrastructure changes

• Contribute to the system architecture and stability

• Contribute towards a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team and beyond, share skills and knowledge in a wide range of topics related to DevOps and software delivery

Your skills and experiences

• Multi-year experience as DevOps Engineer or similar

• Good understanding of SDLC tools (Artifactory, Bitbucket, JIRA) and change management process (ServiceNow).

• Good understanding of, and experience with CI/CD build and deploy tools (TeamCity / Github Actions workflow / Helm Charts )

• Experienced with GIT, Apache Maven.

• Working knowledge of UNIX command/shell scripting, GCP Cloud Services (Ex: Data-Flow, IAM-service accounts, Cloud SQL, BQ, GCS, Networking, Composer)

• Infrastructure Orchestration (Terraform: TFE)

• Basic understanding with Hadoop and Hadoop Ecosystem (Hive, Impala, Flume. Sqoop, Spark).

• Understanding of Containers (Docker desired), SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle and Python
