At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader — we’re changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.

Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work — every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.

Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

The Regulatory Initiative has the mission to oversee the design and implementation of customer-centric solutions in response to new requirements resulting from new regulations. The team’s mission is to be customer-first and ensure any changes to our product or communications are delivering the best possible experience for the customer.

The team works cross-functionally with many teams in the organisation (markets, legal, tax, product, marketing, GCX etc) to ensure successful design and delivery of regulatory-driven changes with a customer focus in mind. We aspire to not only deliver against new requirements with the least customer friction but, where possible, to solve long-standing customer problems.

What you will accomplish :
  • Be the Programme lead for a set of regulations or related horizontal topics
  • Work with tax/legal/Government Relation teams to understand the impact of the new regulations and how these translate into new requirements
  • Work with analytics to understand business impact
  • Develop, in collaboration with these teams, risk-based options that take both company risk and customer impact into account and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Own the Business Requirements for these projects and work collaboratively with Product counterparts to ensure solutions are scoped, designed and implemented
  • Own the relationship with impacted Business Units (e.g. countries, Exports team, etc.) to ensure key stakeholder feedback is obtained and solutions aligned
  • Coordinate with the PMOs/ teams of each workstream involved (e.g. Product, Tax, GCX)
  • Stakeholder management: e.g., for large regulations, organise and run regular Steering Committees to drive decision making

What you will bring:

  • Potential candidates will have had project management experience and/ or consulting experience. Experience working in an international organisation on large-scale projects, influencing stakeholders across a range of functions and/ or e-commerce is a plus.
  • Best in class program management. From fast moving corporate, tech/ e-commerce, and/ or consulting
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders from different functions globally. Clarifying roles and responsibilities, and cutting through complexity, to deliver
  • Customer focus, leveraging data. Able to connect the dots to shape better customer solutions
  • Ability to ‘see around corners’. Making sure all teams and stakeholders who might be impacted are aware and engaged as appropriate
  • Clear, succinct, communication style. Able to explain highly complex topics simply
  • Fluent German and English. The role will be based in Berlin with expectation to travel 10-15%
