WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

EU Deforestation Regulation, Dual-use products, Conflict Minerals,  explosive precursor regulations – everyone is talking about these challenges in global trade. With us, you're right in the middle of it! In our Customs team you manage licenses for regulated goods across EMEA. Collaborating with the specialist unit, you ensure compliance with all European and German trade control regulations. Additionally, you  implement legal requirements within BASF's SAP operational processes.

• In this role you ensure compliance with EMEA legal regulations to support the continuity of operational tasks in trade control.
• You are responsible for evaluating SAP orders to confirm that all legal requirements and BASF standards are met.
• Apart from that you prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities for regulated goods within the EMEA region.
• You ensure BASF goods operations comply with applicable regulations (EU Deforestation, EMEA operational dual‑use, and other international requirements).
• Furthermore you assist with internal and external audits to verify compliance and operational efficiency.
• You support the monitoring of service quality based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive the continuous improvement of established processes.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (chemistry, engineering, biology), customs & trade, or law.
• professional experience in trade compliance, export controls or regulatory affairs
• familiar with standard IT applications and a sound knowledge of SAP R/3 and SAP S4 HANA
• strong communication skills in English, German is plus
