We are seeking a sales leader to join our dedicated European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) Specialist Sales Team. This specialized team focuses exclusively on supporting European AGS, AWSI, and WWPS ESC sales across both partners and customers, enabling deep specialization in ESC-specific requirements, pipeline development, and EU national government procurement/policy/regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Sr Sovereign Cloud Sales Manager, this role will be responsible for pipeline generation.
The AWS European Sovereign Cloud is a new, independent cloud for Europe, designed to help public sector organizations and customers in highly regulated industries meet their evolving sovereignty needs. The AWS European Sovereign Cloud will provide customers the capability to meet stringent operational autonomy and data residency requirements.
Key job responsibilities
· Work closely with public sector and regulated industry account management teams to develop targeted strategies to expand business and drive adoption of AWS solutions that help customers meet evolving digital sovereignty requirements in the German market.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, solutions architecture, capture and proposal, etc.) to validate customer requirements, perform proofs of concept, and define and drive adoption of AWS cloud services.
· Develop deep understanding of the specific digital sovereignty requirements of the German public sector and regulated industries, and work across the organization to deliver solutions.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and technical teams within German public sector organizations and regulated industries, in coordination with account management teams.
· Provide regular updates and insights to leadership on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer/partner feedback.
· Collaborate with the broader AWS Sovereign Cloud team to align on overall go-to-market strategies and share best practices.
- - Experience in business development, sales, or account management, with a focus on the public sector and/or regulated industries in Germany.
- - Fluency in both German and English, with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate in both languages.
- - Proven track record of successfully selling enterprise cloud solutions and managing sales cycles in the German market.
- - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with C-suite and technical stakeholders.
- - Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with customers and partners across Germany.
- - Proven ability to deliver clear, professional presentations to diverse audiences
- - Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- - Experience working in a global team environment with multiple time zones
- - Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when working in stressful situations
- - Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results
- - Experience in sovereign cloud solutions or similar highly regulated environments
- - Knowledge of European public sector procurement frameworks
