Supplier Development Engineer
The purpose of a Supplier Development Engineer is to enhance supplier performance and productivity by assessing their operations, implementing improvements, ensuring they meet quality requirements, and resolving any technical issues, ultimately optimizing the supply chain and contributing to the overall success of the Project.
Key Responsibilities
Develop key suppliers in strategical supplier development programs aligned between Supplier Chain Mgt. and Quality functions.
Drive the program with regular site visits, trainings and assessments being deeply involved in the manufacturing processes and the day to day implementation of agreed improvement measures.
Operational supplier development, working closely with suppliers to resolve technical or quality issues that may impact their performance.
Frequently in contact with the operative Buying Team and Engineering to identify parts which are at risk due to missing capabilities or capacity of the supplier. Providing onsite manufacturing consultation to mitigate the risk of failure.
Further closing the loop with Engineering to adapt our design and our technical documentation for ongoing orders as well as for the future.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, manufacturing, machining heat treatment, or metallic material etc.
5+ years’ experience in manufacturing or related fields is required. Minimum 1-3 years of industry specific experience in supplier management.
Deep understanding of Machining manufacturing processes. Ability to analyse capabilities of a supplier and check suitability. Ability to optimize manufacturing processes in collaboration with supplier to mitigate risk of quality issues and delays. Ability to manage potential risks in all stages of the manufacturing process to prevent loss and ensure smooth production
Ability to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, characterized by transparent communication, timely fulfilment of contracts, continuous performance evaluation, and proactive risk mitigation
Proficiency with MS Office, digital and Analytical skills is a plus
Workable English skills both in speaking and writing
