In our unit Global Research Herbicides Agronomy / Advanced Biology, we discover, evaluate and optimize the development- and market-potential of new herbicide products.

• In your new role, you organize and coordinate the early phase glasshouse testing of new potential herbicide compounds.
• You act as a focal point for all queries and requests regarding early phase glasshouse herbicide testing.
• Additionally, you work closely together with chemists, biology team leaders, technicians and gardeners to ensure that the screening proceeds optimally within the constraints of the biological, technical and organizational systems in the glasshouse.
• You make recommendations for further compound progression based on the screening data obtained and on chemistry considerations.
• You actively participate in multidisciplinary project teams, representing the herbicide glasshouse testing within the optimization process.
• Furthermore, you are responsible for the generation and collation of herbicidal screening data to support patent applications.
• Last but not least, you look into new automation and digitalization projects to optimize productivity and quality of greenhouse testing.

• master’s degree or PhD in chemistry or equivalent like chemical biology, particularly specializing in organic chemistry. Experience with a broad range of chemical structure classes would be advantageous
• experience with biological testing and with structure-activity relationships would be a plus
• openness and enthusiasm for innovation and digitalization
• very good communication skills in English and German
• familiarity with standard IT applications like MS Office and software systems used in scientific data analysis
• practical experience with programming in MATLAB+, C++, Python would be advantageous
