Key job responsibilities
As an Applied Scientist, you will own the design and development of end-to-end systems for coding agents. You’ll have the opportunity to write technical white papers, create technical roadmaps and drive production level projects that will support Amazon Science. You will have the opportunity to design new algorithms, models, or other technical solutions whilst experiencing Amazon’s customer focused culture. The ideal scientist must have the ability to work with diverse groups of people and cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems.

- Experience in building models for business application
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- PhD in computer science, machine learning, or related fields
- Strong publication record at top-tier machine learning venues such as NeurIPS, ICML and ICLR
- Hands-on expertise in fine-tuning and post-training large language models, including supervised and preference-based methods.
- Experience working with or evaluating AI systems
- Demonstrated experience developing models for code generation or program synthesis.
- Deep understanding of reinforcement learning, including both theoretical foundations and practical applications.
