For our Institute for Solar Research in Almería, southern Spain, we are looking for an

Optimizing solar energy in test benches

What to expect:

You want to contribute to the energy transition and are looking forward to a job at the Plataforma Solar de Almería, the largest European test center for concentrating solar technologies of our Spanish research partner CIEMAT.

Together with your colleagues from the qualification department, you will further develop measurement technologies that enable the cost-effective provision of solar energy for process heat systems and solar thermal power plants. You will pursue the goal of developing innovative measurement systems that initially record operating conditions in power plants and industrial facilities. You will then simulate the resulting loads on components in test benches and carry out tests to prove the required performance, operational reliability and durability of components.

• a very good academic degree in engineering, physics, computer science or a comparable subject (diploma/master's degree)
• knowledge of programming and measurement technology
• practical skills and an interest in mechanical and electrical installations
• You communicate and write confidently in English
• You enjoy working in a team and supervising students (Master's) and/or doctoral candidates
