Summary:

Guides and develops the Stock Prep Engineering team and coordinates their activities with customers externally, and internally with our sales, product management, project management, application engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and quality groups, as required to maintain the order schedule and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Distributes the day-to-day tasks of the Stock Preparation Engineering team, including continuous development of personnel and procedures
  • Ensure timely and cost efficient order processing taking into account Voith standards and templates from product management.
  • Support Application engineering and product management in further development/standardization of stock preparation equipment and engineering solutions.
  • Support service tasks and inquiries with respect to stock preparation equipment/machines
  • Review drawings, schematics, P&ID’s, bills of material and other information such as operating manuals required to fulfill the customer contract.
  • Technical support and know-how for stock preparation equipment for external customers and component suppliers, as well as Voith internal departments; project management, product management, application engineering, supply chain management, manufacturing and quality control.
  • Manage engineering capacity to determine & coordinate design and delivery dates with OTO
  • Optimize business processes by aligning them with adjacent areas with aim of maximizing the economic success of the higher level unit
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar experience
  • at least 6 years of experience in the design & manufacturing of stock preparation machinery or equipment
  • at least 5 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry
  • ability to travel domestically and internationally occasionally

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on a computer and phone.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for on-site to review existing equipment, attend meetings, and/or assist with service work.
