At the core, SAP HANA is an in-memory database management system designed to simultaneously process transactional and analytical workloads in a wide range of environments, scaling from multi-core and multi-socket to distributed setups. SAP HANA Cloud is the future version of SAP HANA for cloud scenarios. To tackle the challenges of tomorrow, SAP is constantly adapting to the advancements in research and technology. THE ROLE The delivery of a large software product as SAP HANA requires a complex set of steps to fulfill various requirements. It is desirable to automate these steps as far as possible with the ultimate goal of a one-click release to customer. Therefore, the delivery team has created various tooling in python and around Jenkins to automate these steps. We have various tasks and ideas how to further automate the processes and how to improve the quality of the current automatization. This is also a very good opportunity for a student to collect hands-on experience with the build and deliver process of a very large software project. Expectations about the work: The student implements software to improve automatization We offer: Working student / student job (20 hours during lecture times) Internship (mandatory or voluntary) We support long term collaboration where the student can switch between working student, internship and may continue with thesis creation (Bachelor/Master/Diplom). Until further notice, the typical work environment is 100% working from home. This is supported by a remote onboarding process, a supervisor that is a domain expert in the topic, and software and hardware for remote work provided by SAP. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Expected qualification: Currently enrolled Student (f/m/d) of computer science or related fields at a higher education institution. Experience with programming demonstrated by existing projects. Experience with Python and SQL is required. Experience with Jenkins is a plus.
