PostDoc Metabolism (m/f/d)

Our global research unit Herbicides Early Biology conducts research activities to improve and support new herbicide lead chemistries. We are currently looking for an experienced PostDoc to join our team.

• In your new position, you investigate the metabolism of agrochemical compounds in microorganisms, such as yeast or bacteria in our research laboratories.
• You develop and operate biological assays and LC/MS-based analytical methods.
• Furthermore, you apply your knowledge to solve biological questions important for lead chemistry evaluation and optimization.
• You are responsible for data analysis, reporting, presentation and discussion of your results.
• Last but not least, you work in project teams together with scientists in interdisciplinary teams.

• PhD in chemical biology, biochemistry, biology or related fields with a strong background in LC/MS analytics with biological questions
• due to your previous experience in the lab you are familiar with operating analytical devices
• deep knowledge in molecular biology (plasmid design, transformation, cloning and protein expression) and in yeast screening systems
• practical experience with cytochrome P450 enzymes in yeast is a plus
• practical experience with plants or knowledge about plant biology is an advantage
• excellent communication as well as presentation skills in English - also you speak German or you are willing to learn German
