The Software Factory is the central department responsible to harmonize and professionalize processes, methods, and tools (PMT) across the global Software development for automotive control units. The focus is on different areas like Software-architecture, -integration and -releasing, -validation and -quality. Hence working with us means to set the base for state-of-the-art software development within BMW, that meets current and future demands.   What awaits you? As Practice Lead you are responsible to shape, define, realize, deploy, and optimize the software project management processes, methods, and tools (PMT) like establishing and providing an easy-to-use overall project setup while standardizing methods to measure the progress of the project in the different phases. You define the strategy and roadmap and work with all stakeholders to ensure that the shaped solutions satisfy the needs of the software development projects. Therefore, you work together in close collaboration with the project lead for automotive control units and their Software Project Managers as well as the Process Manager for the overarching Embedded Software Development Framework. In this working environment you are the overall link in all existing practices to further support the development projects to address their needs towards the Software Factory. Reporting the progress and status in different circles and forums as well as Budget and resource planning lie within your responsibilities. Prioritizing problems to solve and propose solutions to stakeholders and syncing on development topics with different Software projects completes your tasks.   What should you bring along? University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or in a related field. At least 8 years of working experience in Automotive project management, embedded software development, integration, quality, or testing. At least 5 years as a project lead in automotive car or software projects. Experience in at least 2 vehicle projects from concept to SOP. Experience with Software Project Management methods in high complex projects. Project management certification PMP, IMPA Level C, B. Preferably experience working in agile software frameworks such as Scrum or Safe. Excellent communication skills with all kinds of stakeholders from developers to senior managers and the motivation to proactively drive and iterate towards a common solution. You enjoy continuous improvement of processes and interdisciplinary collaborations with different stakeholders.
